My name is Kaitlin Krister and I’m a grad student at Kent State University. I am currently pursuing my degree in public relations. However, one of my main passions in life is fashion. I’ve even gone so far as to design my own jeans.
However, I’m not your typical fashionista. I won’t buy fashion “must haves” unless they’re a great deal. Okay, so that’s not 100 percent true, I splurge every fall on a new pair of leather boots! We all have our indulgences, right? However, that’s the key, knowing when to splurge and when to save. One rule of thumb, if it’s not on Tim Gunn’s 10 essential items list then it’s not worth the splurge. Luckily, Tim allows for one indulgent item in a wardrobe. I choose to indulge in boots. Dillard’s offers tons of styles and the best part is they have sales.
So you’re probably wondering how I determine what’s in style. Well I read a lot of fashion magazines, including People Style Watch, W, Vogue, and Glamour. I do my research prior to advising you on your fashion decisions. So don’t worry, I know what I’m talking about. Take a look for yourself; I think you’ll find you agree. One last tip, keep track of all the money you save from being a frugal fashionista. You’ll be amazed.
